recycling robin
Well everyone knows I recycle but I never realized what a major example I was setting! As always every spring and summer my yard and gardens are swarming with plants and wildlife. A robin makes a nest in this maple tree every year and as I was watching her tend to her nest I noticed many odd things sticking out of the framework of her little haven. String , odd little pieces of twine and even in the major architecture of the nest styrophome plate piece. And so I have come to realize that all we do affects the lives and minds of others and they live by our examples right down to my recycling robin mama

Lifes lessons about Love
I am a try to fix the world type of person, and when my niece recently wen't into foster care I was crushed! My family is my all and I have always been a very family oriented person. I had watched the pregnancy and did the majority of preparing for her precious arrival. Being an aunt was the next important thing to being a mother to me. As the days went by my husband and I contemplated seeking custody of her and even adopting her if need be. I went every route I could to support all family and friends involved but also inside afraid of the outcome of raising her with all my health problems, being a lower income family, and the everyday challenges of raising my own 3 kids one being My niece Joys big brother now 3 1/2 years old with some special needs. It pained me to think of the thought of him ever being seperated from his baby sister and possibly never even knowing her. I had understood and known all too familiar the feeling with being adopted and seperated from my own older sister for many years but now have been blessed to have her in my life permanently. Many things came to my mind especially the words of my grandma and mother and with the constant support of my sister I learned the true meaning of If you truely love something let it go. After meeting little Joys new foster family I have come to the conclusion. In all best interest and true Love for dear little Joy I would have to step back and let happen what God had planned. I held her in my arms today for a visit and her little smile said thankyou aunty. It is amazing the amount of love and the lessons of love you can learn from just one little child

family memories and creative quilting come together
I love to make quilts and always have loved a challenge and so after quilt book searching I come across a mcalister mcpuff which I gave a little extra special twist to. Instead of using bought material I recycled what I could and made a family heirloom. My dads old dress shirts ,my grandmas shirt and sundress,my moms dress, family cloths an old favorite in shreds craft bag and old family worn out cloths. When I look at my quilt I see all those special people and remember so many ways they have touched my life.
preserving memories
I love collecting rocks and last late summer took a day trip with my friend to Munising michigan and to Lake superior miners beach. I was struck with awe at the beauty and soon became enthralled with the variety of beautiful rocks I was finding. When I arrived home and the rocks had dried I was bummed that alot of the beauty from the water being on them had left so I improvised and found this way to preserve my treasures.
Canned rocks sealed in one of my canning jars.
Ok I have this dream kinda big but been with me since I was a kid. I have a deep admiration for dolphins, rocks shells and such so I am planning a trip to Florida. I am determined to achieve this dream. I am a simple person so this is huge for me but this 5 day trip with my bff will be amazing. 2 days in clearwater and 2 days in Orlando. Seaworld and discovery cove are on the agenda along with rock and shell searching. I am saving and doing many things to help and earn this.
